In the summer of 2005, I happened to be unemployed. One day, as I had a conversation with God I prayed, "God - Please take me to a place that benefits the public, where I can use my 20 year experience, were I can use my photography, graphics and computer skills, where I can be of assistance to many and am appreciated for my hard work."

1. GOD always gives you what you need. All you have to do is...Ask! My dream job was given to me on August 15, 2005 at a firm called Little Diversified Architectural Consulting. This job required my office administration experience, teamwork, leadership & organizational skills. From the moment I walked in, it felt as if I had been working there for a long time. I automatically took over by coordinating and managing every single detail of this firm’s office. Not only did I have control of everything but this job fulfilled my need to help others. Along with all the office matters, there were 14 architects that depended on my assistance to; download & upload files, scan, plot & sign drawings, run reports and take care of shipments.

Ever since I was a little girl, I always pictured myself working in an office. Back then a secretary was a big deal. Today, the word “secretary” doesn’t even exist. We are all "administrators" and I am very happy as one.

This firm provides freedom to work without anyone looking over your shoulder, it has the best employee benefits, wages and bonuses, it provides 5 weeks vacation from the moment you begin your employement, it provides endless, free training for all and reimbusements on expenses, top of the line technology and usage of laptops for our personal use that are exchanged for a new one every year and best of all, Little recognizes everyone’s efforts, talents &contributions. All my co-workers are a bunch of talented and beloved people who inevitably felt like family.

2. As of Monday, February 2, 2009 I am no longer at my dream job. I, along with 50 others nationwide, was laid off. Reason for layoff: “Staff Reduction” due to firm’s economic hardship.

3. The first thing I’m doing is to have total faith in God. Apparently my job is done at Little and I am needed elsewhere. Updating my resume, applying for unemployment, distributing my resume in job agencies, attending interviews and feeling confident of the gifts He has bestowed upon me are part of the many things I must do in search of my next “Dream Job”.

GOD always gives you what you need. All you have to do is...Ask!
